2/5 - 10/1 Harp & Thistle Pipe Band - WEDNESDAYS

Grade One Player, Pipe Major Don Goller, leads the Harp & Thistle Pipe Band. The Drum Major is Alex Daniels and Greg Sheridan is the Pipe Sgt. At present the band boasts 24 bagpipers, 10 snare drummers, six tenor and three bass drummers. The band also has it’s own three-man color guard and banner carriers. The student ranks are swelling, with 28 student pipers all keeping the tradition alive. The future holds much promise. The band rehearses every Wednesday night at the Riverside Community Center starting at 6:30 pm. Come listen to the “pipes on the river” or even learn to play them yourself.

2/7 - 12/26 Club Country Line Dance - FRIDAYS

Club Country meets every Friday at the Riverside Community Center on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River at 7:00P.M. there is a line and partner dance teach, followed by "open dancing" until 10pm This club is a volunteer organization. Our dance lessons are usually given by club members or a visiting guest instructor. Music is provided by a DJ.

Club Country's annual membership dues are $10 per person. Our membership begins April 1st and ends March 31st. All our weekly dances are open to the general public. Admission cost, $2 members and $4 non-members.

Please Note: Bottled water and soda are available for sale. You may bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages if you wish. (No alcohol is allowed in the Community Center.)

Every Saturday morning from 7:30 until 11:30 a.m., The Third Street Farmers’ Market, located behind Tommy Bahama’s in the Neapolitan parking between Third and Gordon Drive, The Third Street Farmers’ Market overflows with fresh produce, flowers, pastas, cheeses, seafood, baked goods, prepared foods,  jams, relishes as well as superb glycerin soaps, shell mirrors and – a particular favorite, palm frond baskets and hats made on the spot. Music, coffee, dog treats, and many other delights make The Third Street Farmers Market perfect for grown-ups, children, dogs, and every other member of the family.

Music Walk is the largest South Florida monthly music event. Featuring live bands in downtown Fort Myers shops, patios, bars and restaurants.

4/24 Jade Riedel Reception and Scholarship Presentation

Junior and Senior art students from Collier County high schools gather to see their work on view at The Von Liebig Art Center and to learn whom will be awarded scholarships to further their art careers at the collegiate level.

4/25 - 5/23 43rd Annual Jade N. Riedel Scholarship Competition

In 1971, members of the Naples Art Association initiated a scholarship program designed to encourage young aspiring artists to realize their dreams of becoming professionals in the visual arts. Since then, awards have been given annually by the NAA to Collier County high school students in conjunction with an exhibition of their word. Junior and senior high school students in Collier County, who are interested in furthering their art studies at the college level, eagerly participate in this competition for scholarships that help to defray student tuition costs.
